There are 4 other lakes near Nainital. Bhimtal is 40 kms, Naukuchiatal is 45 kms, Sattal is 35 kms and Khurpatal is only 10 kms. The first three lakes mentioned are on the same route whereas Khurpatal is on the opposite side. One must visit Bhimtal, Naukhuchiatal for sure. These two are the most beautiful and bigger lakes among all the lakes nearby Nainital.
For tourist looking for spots of pilgrim importance can visit Kaichi Dham which is about 32 kms form Nainital. This holy temple is very famous and is ashram of ‘Neem Karoli Baba’. Another famous temple in Nainital is Naina Devi Temple at Flats which is the heart of the Nainital town.
What to buy in Nainital
Nainital is famous for its candles and wood handcraft made of pine seed shells. Best candle shops are at Bara bazaar. Beautiful designs of candles are available here. For Handicraft item flats markets is the best place to buy.
What not to buy
Do not buy western cloths from the Tibetan market as all these cloths are brought from Delhi. These cloths can be bought in markets like Lajpat and Karolbagh in much cheaper rates.
